Ashamed?

Have you ever felt ashamed? Cool, me too. Have you ever felt unworthy of God's love? Yup, same here. Have you ever had the urge to hide something that makes you feel guilty? I'm right there with you.

But Ephesians 5:11-13 says " Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light."

Expose the ugliness in your life, share it, make it known, let God's light shine brightly upon it and he in turn will use it as a guiding light for others. Only when we expose the dark parts of us, can God use them for His glory! So if you are feeling ashamed today, I encourage you to acknowledge it, take it to a trusted friend and talk about it, pray about it, expose it! My roommate said something incredible to me the other night when I told her about something that I was feeling ashamed of: "He knew what he was getting into when he died for you, and He isn't surprised by your shortcomings".

There is nothing you can do that will separate you from His love. He knows you will mess up. But there is no way to move on until you pull it out of the deep dark parts of yourself and lifted it up to Jesus. Shame can no longer eat away at your soul when it is brought into the open.

I will get back to you ASAP!
